Jefferson County Ohio Veterans Project
The Local History Department of PLSJ has an ongoing project concerning the Veterans of Jefferson County. This project began in 2000 and is still going forward. If you or someone you know served in any of the following wars and lived in Jefferson County, your name may appear in our books on this topic. The following books have already been compiled. The title of the books are as "Jefferson County Ohio Veterans of Civil War" etc:
Civil War, Spanish American War, WWI, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, Persian Gulf War (1990)
These books can be seen in the Local History Room at Schiappa Library or can be viewed online at

We are now collecting veteran’s information of those that served in the Iraq War 2003-2011.
We are also collecting information on those persons serving or have served in the current Afghanistan War 2001- present. This is our way of honoring all of our Jefferson County veterans that served to protect our country. To find out the details we are seeking and how to be included, please download this form.
